Deaddiction

The total reliance on a specific substance or circumstance is known as addiction. Other than alcohol and narcotics, a variety of substances can cause substance addiction.

Overview

Addiction is a neurological and behavioural illness. No matter how much harm the drugs may do, the need to use them becomes overwhelming when you are hooked on them. You're more likely to escape some of the most serious effects of drug addiction—also known as substance use disorder—if you get treatment for it early on.

Addiction to drugs involves more than just heroin, cocaine, or other illicit substances. Alcohol, nicotine, prescription drugs for anxiety and sleep disorders, and other acceptable substances can all lead to addiction. Addiction to opioids, which are narcotic painkillers, can also occur from using prescription or illicitly obtained drugs.

Symptoms

Rehab facilities not only provide rehabilitation but also impart cooperation and life skills. In addition to all of this, prescription medications are also given to treat addiction in addition to the weekly planned individual treatment sessions.

To stop or leave some food like alcohol, drugs, tobacco, etc, we can not stop abruptly because these, when left instantly, cause withdrawal symptoms, which can be sometimes life-threatening and sometimes bring thoughts of suicide. Ayurveda helps in reducing these symptoms by little by little substituting healthy food with unhealthy food and then completely shifting to healthy food by ayurveda pada amasha kalpana (concept) and by ayurvedic panchakarma treatment and yoga, one is able to get control over it.
