Manipulative therapy

Naturopathy

Manipulative therapy, when administered by a certified therapist, entails a variety of pressures, movements, and techniques to manipulate the body's muscles and other soft tissues. The therapy can help relieve stress and tension, relieve symptoms, heal injuries, and promote wellness by slowing down your nervous system. Pressing, rubbing, and adjusting your skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments is manipulative therapy. Deep pressure and gentle strokes are two possible types of manipulation. Most people agree that it is a component of integrative medicine.

There are several different types of manipulative therapy, including:

Chiropractic: This involves adjusting the spine and other joints to improve alignment and function.

Osteopathy: A similar approach to chiropractic, but with a greater emphasis on the body's ability to self-heal.

Massage therapy: This involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body to reduce tension and improve circulation.

Physical therapy: A broader field that includes manipulative techniques as well as exercise and other treatments to improve function and mobility.

How does manipulative therapy work?

Reduces pain: By improving joint mobility and reducing muscle tension.

Improves range of motion: By increasing flexibility and reducing stiffness.

Promotes healing: By stimulating blood flow and reducing inflammation.

When might manipulative therapy be used?

Back pain: A common reason for seeking manipulative therapy.

Neck pain: Can help alleviate pain and improve range of motion.

Joint pain: Arthritis and other joint conditions may benefit from manipulative therapy.

Headaches: In some cases, manipulative therapy can help relieve tension headaches.

Sports injuries: Can help with recovery and prevent future injuries.

Is manipulative therapy safe?

Manipulative therapy is safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. But,  there may arise a temporary discomfort or aggravation of symptoms as a result of the  realignment of the soft tissues or bones, which may disappear in a few hours or days.
