You may have arthritis if you experience pain and stiffness in your body or find it difficult to move around. The majority of types of arthritis result in joint pain and swelling. A joint is the point where two bones come together like in your knee or elbow. A swollen joint may develop serious damage over time. Certain types of arthritis can also lead to issues with your skin and eyes among other organs.
Overview
There are over 100 different types of arthritis each with its own set of causes and treatments. Arthritis manifests itself in a variety of ways.
Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. It is frequently linked with aging or trauma.
Rheumatoid arthritis: Autoimmune arthritis arises when the immune system of your body mistakenly attacks healthy cells. Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common type of this type of arthritis.
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis / juvenile idiopathic arthritis: This is a form of arthritis that is common among children.
Lupin syndrome: This is a chronic autoimmune disease. It causes inflammation by damaging tendons joints and organs.

Causes
The causes of arthritis vary according to the type of arthritis and can include:
Injury A metabolic disorder such as gout with elevated uric acid levels in the blood as well as pseudogout with hypercalcemia.
Genetic factors Infections (bacterial and viral) have both direct and indirect effects.
Immune system misdirection combined with autoimmunity (rheumatoid arthritis systemic lupus erythematosus, etc.)
Aging-related joint wear and tear (osteoarthritis)
Obesity
Family history
Weakened muscles
Symptoms
Joint pain stiffness and swelling are the most common signs and symptoms. In addition, your symptoms may worsen the moment you get out of bed in the morning or upon waking from sleep.
Other signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis include:
Limited range of motion that sometimes goes away after movements
Bone growths in the fingers cause clicking sounds while bending

Grating or scraping sensation in the knees.
The following are additional signs of rheumatoid arthritis:
Stiffness in the morning that lasts for thirty minutes or longer influences multiple joints starting in smaller joints like the hands and feet and affecting the same joints on both sides of the body
Fatigue low-grade fever
Eye inflammation
Low red blood cell count
Heart muscle, and blood vessel inflammation.
