Upanaham is a herbal bandaging treatment applied to treat any part of the body for inflammation, pain and swelling. The customised herbal paste is made warm and is thickly smeared over the affected area followed by application of medically treated fresh herbal leaves to retain the warmth. It is then bandaged with a cotton cloth or gauze. The application is made to stand overnight or for a minimum duration of 6-7 hrs to obtain the maximum healing benefit of the herbs.
