Vertigo
Vertigo is characterized as a sudden, internal, or exterior spinning sensation that is continuously brought on by moving your head too quickly. It is seen as a symptom rather than an actual disease.
Description:
Vertigo is a sudden condition characterized by a loss of balance, making it difficult to stand or walk. It can be classified into peripheral and central vertigo, with peripheral vertigo resulting from inflammation or mutilation of inner ear areas. Central vertigo can occur due to brain or cerebellum malfunctions, such as strokes, multiple sclerosis, or blood vessel injuries.
Cause:
Vertigo is often caused by inner ear problems such as BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), Meniere's disease, libyrinthitis, and vestibular neuritis. Less frequently, vertigo may be linked to a head or neck injury, brain problems, certain medications, excess alcohol, or migraine headaches.
Symptoms:
In vertigo, one may have feelings of spinning, tilting, swaying, being unbalanced, and being pulled in one direction. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abnormal eye movements, headache, dizziness, fever, ringing in the ears, balance issues, blood pressure changes, and concentration issues.
