Description:
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a brain, nerve, and sleep condition causing a strong urge to move legs, often accompanied by discomfort. Symptoms are more common during evening rest and can interfere with relaxation or sleep. There are two types: early onset, diagnosed before age 45, and late onset, diagnosed after age 45.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a condition affecting the basal ganglia, a part of the brain responsible for movement regulation. Factors contributing to RLS include genetics, iron deficiency, underlying medical conditions, and medications. Other conditions that can cause RLS include low iron levels, anemia, pregnancy, diabetes, kidney disease, peripheral neuropathy, and substance use disorders.
