Low AMH
Low AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone) tells about a reduced ovarian reserve, which may affect fertility.
Overview
Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a hormone produced by developing follicles within the female ovaries. It is important to note that AMH levels naturally decline with advancing age, and it is common for women over the age of 40 to exhibit low AMH results. This decrease signifies a reduction in ovarian reserve.
Although various factors, particularly age, are taken into account when evaluating AMH levels, the standard reference range for AMH is typically established between 2.20 and 6.80 ng/mL.
Low AMH levels are indicative of a diminished quantity of eggs or a severely limited ovarian reserve, which can lead to decreased probabilities of achieving pregnancy.
