Cradle cap is the common term for seborrheic dermatitis This is a common skin condition that appears as a scaly rash on the face and scalp, which are oily parts of the body. The rash can take many various forms on the skin and occasionally mimic other skin conditions.

One could argue that dandruff is the least severe type of seborrhoeic dermatitis. White to yellowish scale is a common symptom of both illnesses, which could be slimy or dry, Itchy. In contrast to dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis can appear elsewhere on the body. It can show up on the skin surrounding the nostrils, beard, ears, or eyebrows. It can occasionally show up on the breast, particularly in males. People of various ages and ethnicities can acquire this prevalent skin ailment.
Causes
This disorder is most likely brought on by an overabundance of Malassezia yeast, which is often present in the skin and causes inflammation that alters the epidermis.
Certain underlying medical conditions such as HIV, Psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea, Epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease.
Eating disorders, and Alcoholism, can increase your risk of developing seborrhoeic dermatitis.
The use of specific detergents or drugs

Darunaka- causes such as excess intake of cold water, ratri jagarana (night awakening), unhygiene etc, all causes aggravation of vata dosha which results in dryness of scalp and due to kapha dosha, there is excess oil production, this is seborrheic dermatitis, where rakta (blood) is also vitiated, that affects scalp and can also spread to other areas.
