Green detox smoothie


1 cup spinach leaves

1/2 cup kale leaves, stems removed

1/2 cucumber, peeled and chopped

1 green apple, cored and chopped

1/2 avocado, peeled and pitted

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)

1 cup coconut water or water

Ice cubes (optional)


Blend the spinach, kale, cucumber, apple, avocado, ginger, lemon juice, coconut water or water, and honey or maple syrup (if using) in a blender.

Process at high speed until creamy and smooth. To make it even smoother and colder, feel free to add a few ice cubes and blend once more.

After tasting the smoothie, add extra honey, lemon juice, or maple syrup as necessary to modify the sweetness or sharpness.

Serve the green detox smoothie right away after pouring it into glasses.
